Head Boy and Head Girl
At Willow, our Head Boy and Head Girl hold positions of significant responsibility and trust within the school community. They are exemplary role models who demonstrate leadership, reliability and a strong commitment to our shared values.
In addition to fulfilling the same duties as our Junior Leaders, they provide consistent support across the school day. They assist staff with setting up and supporting the smooth running of assemblies, ensuring that these important gatherings are well organised and purposeful. At lunchtime, they help with the lunch trolley and support the organisation of structured playground games from 12:45pm, promoting inclusion, clear communication and fair play. Should a Junior Leader be absent, the Head Boy and Head Girl ensure that all activity stations remain fully supported.
They are also regularly called upon to assist with wider school responsibilities, including supporting events, welcoming visitors and undertaking additional tasks as required. Their willingness to contribute in this way reflects their maturity and dedication to the school.
The roles of Head Boy and Head Girl are determined through a democratic election process. Pupils are nominated and deliver speeches outlining their suitability for the position and their vision for the year ahead. This process highlights the importance of pupil voice and celebrates those who are prepared to represent their peers.
